Protektor HQ was an extension to an existing commercial warehouse, creating 6 new offices with welfare facilities.
Protektor UK are one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of dry lining and steel fabrication products to the interior fit out sector and construction industry in the UK and Europe. BWP Plastering Services Ltd were contracted to install a panelised SFS lining system and to insulate, plasterboard and plaster the new extension created. The client wanted to expand the existing space to grow the company without the need to move to another building.
The project took 8 weeks and was completed on time and in budget.
We used an SFS panelised system to make the project as time efficient as possible, creating a systemised process which was quick and clean to use. As the area was a tight space to work in, the panelised system allowed us to overcome challenges in the installation process. The project was undertaken in a space where people were working so extra measures were needed to be put in place to compensate for forklifts and heavy machinery being used in the area. Again, we created a systemised way of working which allowed this to be done at specific times due to health and safety protocols.
We worked to a design provided by Protektor UK. Once the panelised walls were in place, we then installed 250mm SFS ceiling joists before installing the heavy-duty top hat system to provide the required acoustic performance to ceilings. Once the M&E contractors had completed their first fix, we then returned to insulate all external walls with a fire performance-based board to provide 60 minutes fire rating. We insulated all internal walls and then boarded all compartment walls using an acoustic performance board which provided a 60db from office to office. We then completed all walls and ceilings with a plastered smooth finish.
The client was delighted with the finish of the work and the space that had been created for their growing company.
